There are her housemates - the vamp girl, the musician and the strong angry boy who eventually becomes her love interest. On the way, we meet people and ex-people. Over the 15 books of the series, we follow Claire, a very smart but very young college girl, from innocence to growing, often courageous feistiness and stubbornness and finally womanhood. ![]() So this is more of an essay on our trip through Morganville, the Texas town you never can leave - because it`s run by vampires who won't let you leave. (Go back to Glass Houses.) There are semi-spoilers here. If you haven't read the series this far, you're shouldn't be reading this review. The book does, however, wrap things up nicely without rushing to an obvious conclusion. ![]() So here you have not a review of Daylighters, the newly released final book of the series. I read the first five books - the Bishop arc - in a weekend. Within 60 pages of my trip to Morganville, I fell in love with Claire, her 16-year-old heroine. I picked up Glass Houses because I had liked Caine's Weather Warden books, an adult-oriented series. ![]() Of course, as she wrote in a note to me, so is she. I'm way out of her target audience - male, above 50. I stumbled across Rachel Caine's Morganville series a year and a half or so ago. ![]()
